It's August... Should I plant bermuda sod in Tucson?
Things to consider.

It is really hot right now.
You're going to have to water the heck out of it.
But you want it to have enough time to root before the winter hits.
My friends brother in law or whatever planted some sod in front of his girlfriends trailer and they had to water it a lot.
What you should do, they do it in Colorado. You should plant creeping thyme.  It hardly takes any fertilizer or care.

Of course you could do what they did at my former high school and use artifical sod.  But I think I heard that the district spend $25,000.  It's nice because it doesn't hurt and the players like it better.

If you have a vegetable garden you should fertilize with fish emulsion (the casts love it!).
